Suite à un grave accident l'année dernière, j'ai passé trois mois et demi à l'hôpital. Après des soins intensifs à Montpellier et Béziers, j'ai été transféré à La Petite Paix à Lamalou les Bains, dans l'Hérault.
La Petite Paix est une clinique spécialisée dans la rééducation physique des victimes d'AVC et des patients atteints de maladies neurodégénératives. Du côté orthopédique, la rééducation post-accidentelle et post-chirurgicale est abordée.
Après quelques hésitations de la part de la direction, j'ai obtenu la permission de prendre des photos dans la clinique. Ces photos sont une façon d'essayer d'exprimer ma gratitude envers La Petite Paix et son personnel.
Following a serious accident last year I spent three and a half months in Hospital. After intensive care in Montpelier and Beziers I was moved to La Petite Paix in Lamalou les Bains, in the Herault.
La Petite Paix is a clinic that specialists in physical re-education of stroke victims and patients with neurodegenerative diseases. On the orthopaedic side post accident and post surgical rehabilitation are addressed.
After some hesitation on behalf of the management I got permission to take photographs in the clinic. These photographs are a way of trying to express my gratitude to La Petite Paix and the staff.

In the time of Covid everyone was wearing a mask.
La Petite Paix est sympathique, accueillante, informelle, chaotique et délabrée. Le personnel est enthousiaste, serviable et bien informé.
La Petite Paix is friendly, welcoming, informal, chaotic and dilapidated. The staff are enthusiastic, helpful, and knowledgeable.
Les dames de la réception sont bien plus que des "réceptionnistes" ; elles organisent le transport et les ambulances, réservent les consultations externes, gèrent la facturation et les négociations avec les mutuelles, organisent le logement, gèrent les archives des patients et la liste est longue..... et elles répondent au téléphone.
The ladies in reception are far more than "receptionists"; they organise transport and ambulances, book external consultancies, manage the billing and the negotiations with the mutual insurance companies, arrange the accommodation, run the patients’ archive and the list goes on….. and they answer the phones
La voilà qui s'entraîne son regard de deux mille metres, des yeux qui disent tout et n'expliquent rien......
